THE NATURE CENTER

The Nature Center at Robert Moses State Park in Massena will hold a wet-on-wet oil painting class for teens and adults on Saturday, July 24th, from 10am – 2pm. No experience is necessary. The title of this painting is “Mono-Chromatic Landscape.” It can be viewed on artist, Wilson Bickford’s website.

Certified art instructor, Wilson Bickford of Governeur, NY will teach participants the techniques of wet-on-wet oil painting. Wilson is well known throughout the area as an artist and teacher and has earned certification credentials from several art material manufacturers, such as Alexander Art and Grumbacher. Wilson is a self-taught artist who works in many media including oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels and pen and ink. The wet-on-wet painting method is popular for its ease of execution, even for first time painters.

The workshop fee is $40 and all materials will be provided. Due to a registration limit of 20 participants, early registration is highly recommended. Participants may wish to bring a snack and drink. The Nature Center is temporarily located in the middle building at Barnhart Beach, Robert Moses State Park. Please call 315-764-5498 to pre-register and get additional information. More programs are listed on the NYS Parks site at: www.nysparks.com.
